Hi! My name is Shelby Salerno.
I am a freelance poet, author, and publicist dedicated to providing thorough and engaging content in order to properly inform, entertain and encourage readers. Want to know why I am dedicated to this? Because I want to provide this kind of work. I believe in the power of loving what I do and showing this love through my content is important to me. From poetry to screenplays to book reviews and website blurbs, I make sure to put a part of myself into each and every piece in order to produce authentic works and build my reader’s trust.
I earned my masters degree in creative writing at Swansea University in Swansea, Wales and my bachelors degree in creative writing at Sonoma State University in California, U.S.A. I have also attended extra college-level courses at Santa Rosa Jr. College in Rohnert Park, CA, and, in addition to this, conducted my own research and education outside of university by partaking in courses on the free, educational site, FutureLearn. These courses include:

- American Sign Language (SRJC)
- An Introduction to Screenwriting (FutureLearn)
- Intercultural Communication (FutureLearn)
- The Power of Social Media (FutureLearn)

I was born and bred in the United States, but have a deep passion for travel, exploration and learning. I was granted the wonderful opportunity to live in the United Kingdom for two years and so I did (and then, a few years after that, I moved to the UK full-time…but that’s another story)! I believe in the value of curiosity and experiencing new things in order to further progress as a human being and as a society as a whole, and though I have had a multitude of wonderful and eye opening opportunities already, I still have so much more to learn about myself, my writing, and the world.
I have taken on a multitude of volunteer leadership positions over the years and each one has taught me much about myself and the importance of listening to and understanding people in order to provide the best quality services/products possible. Here are a few examples:
