I read the Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy years ago, so my memory on the book itself is rather fuzzy, however, from piecing together bits from the movie (which I know is not the same dw) and refreshing my memory over the Internet, I can safely say that this novel is a must read.
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE?! I had no idea! I thought tHHGtG was the one and only in that particular universe. It is a trilogy of 5 books, or so I’ve been told….a tril…of 5…..
Douglas Adams has a way of being just the right amount of cheeky throughout the entirety of this galaxy. His dark humor is spot on and mixes perfectly with the absurdity of his characters.
My favorite part of his work is how quotable he is in this particular novel.
“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.”
“Isn’t it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom too?”
“Would it save you a lot of time if I went mad now?”
“Don’t panic.”
“I’d far rather be happy than right any day.”
