Regulars at the Corner Shop

*the time this was written for was between mid March to the end of April*

The amount of wine my flatmate and I have bought over the past 5 weeks could be considered an alcoholic tendency.

As time goes on, however, so do we, and settling back into adulthood has become a must. After week 3, with the government’s promises of lockdown ending falling through, we had to get back into life before we fell too far behind. We are now going on week 5.

Still, we frequent the corner shop enough to be asked by the cashier, “where’s the little one”, when we don’t come in holding my dog, Winnie. Yes, sometimes we walk out with wine, but other times it’s just chocolate or bits and bobs that we need for dinner.

Regardless of what we grab, the corner shop is one of the places we’re allowed to frequent. Our world’s now consist of our house, Tesco’s, the park, the beach, and the corner shop. That’s a big world compared to some.

Still, I can’t help but feel small.
